 3rd place - costa girona - spain summer 2025

In 2025, Olympique National Beirut made history.

Our U8 squad travelled to Spain to compete in the Girona Cup one of Europe's most prestigious youth football tournaments, drawing top academies from across the globe. They came back with third place.

For a young Lebanese academy to finish on the podium at an international tournament of this level is not a minor achievement. It is proof that the methodology works, that the players are being developed the right way, and that Lebanese football talent is ready to compete anywhere.

What happened in Girona

The U8 squad faced clubs from multiple countries across a structured tournament format. Every match was a test: technically, tactically, and mentally. Against teams with larger resources, longer histories, and home advantage, our players held their ground.

In a defining moment of the tournament, ONB defeated Endeka 2-1, the very organization that runs the Costa Girona Cup on their own turf. The competition was won by C.F. Parets, with ONB finishing a strong third place.

Third place was not gifted. It was earned, session by session, through the same discipline and structure that defines every ONB training day in Beirut.

What it means

Results matter. But what this achievement represents goes beyond a podium finish.

It tells every parent considering ONB that international competition is not an ambition here it is already a reality. It tells every player in the academy that the work they put in every week has a destination. And it tells Lebanese football that Olympique National Beirut belongs on the international stage.

What comes next

In June 2026, ONB returns to Spain for the Costa Girona Cup. Multiple age categories. The same ambition. A higher bar.
